Financial Capability Programme Coordinator – Emergency Housing Manurewa Site, Emerge Aotearoa Partnership

Vaka Tautua is a Pacific non-government organisation working at the cutting edge of health and social service provision in New Zealand. We are looking for a new full time Financial Capability Programme Coordinator to join our Auckland collaboration with Emerge Aotearoa to deliver the ‘For Pacific, By Pacific’ financial capability programme. This role provides one of the social support services for tenants living in a new emergency housing development in Manurewa.
Your service will be based on delivering financial capability workshops plus coaching for individual families, so ideally you will be an experienced adult educator who has worked with families who need help.
It’s vitally important to us to deliver our programmes in a culturally sensitive and respectful way, so you need to be Pacific and have a strong cultural identity and preferably speak a Pacific language.
You will be required to teach our Financial Capability Programme which includes running group workshops and individual coaching, managing recruitment and attendance, and working with team mates who are delivering other social services to help these families get back on their feet. You will be employed by Vaka Tautua but will report to both Vaka Tautua and Emerge Aotearoa so your skills in working across different teams to achieve a programme’s goals will valuable.

What you need:
- Experience teaching adult education, preferably finance based.
- Experience working with families with complex social needs to effect change.
- A 'can-do' attitude to develop this new programme.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to speak a Pacific language.
