Targeted Operations Field Officer - Wanganui
In April, Statistics New Zealand is running a census test in Whanganui, to help them prepare for the 2018 Census.
The targeted operations team will be working in Whanganui before, during, and after the test day to help people participate in the census test. This role requires a ‘can do’ attitude and will suit individuals who like to be out and about talking with a diverse mix of people.
While training and support will be provided, we are looking for self-starting individuals, who can work flexibly and be trusted to manage their own time. Our successful candidates will:
- Have a high attention-to-detail and be process oriented
- Have keen problem-solving abilities and the ability to query inconsistencies as they arise
- Be flexible, and show drive and initiative to get the work done
- Have a strong communication style, both written and verbal
- Be physically fit and able to walk long distances each day
Also, candidates must have:
- Access to wifi on a daily basis
- Valid New Zealand working entitlements
- A clean Ministry of Justice background check
- A valid driver’s licence (Restricted minimum), access to a car with a current WOF and registration, and have at least 3rd party car insurance
Candidates will need to be available for up to four weeks, with assignments starting in March and running through to April. This period will include training prior to field work starting and debriefing meetings at the conclusion of the assignment. Hours of work in the field will be assignment dependant. You will be paid for completing and attending training and any mileage costs you incur.
