We're seeking someone who's self-motivated and passionate about training at grass roots levels, especially for Maori whanau, hapu and iwi.
Trailblazing new ways of working
Le Va has been funded by the Ministry of Health to design and deliver a new National Suicide Prevention Training Programme for New Zealand.
The programme will be New Zealand’s first home-grown national suicide prevention programme for all New Zealanders, targeted towards community members. It will build upon best practice, ensuring that it is quality assured, clinically safe and culturally relevant.
The Team
The role of National Training Lead is to develop and manage the new national suicide prevention programme and will be based in our Manukau office. You will provide leadership to Le Va’s suicide prevention programmes, and related initiatives within Le Va and the Wise Group.
You
We are interested to hear from people who have experience working within the health, education or social sectors and experience working alongside Maori whanau, hapu and iwi communities. Preferably, you will have a relevant post-graduate tertiary qualification and knowledge of the New Zealand health sector.
- You will have the ability to engage with others at all levels within an organisation, and to positively influence outcomes
- You will have knowledge and experience practising the Treaty of Waitangi principles
- You will have strong team-building, interpersonal and communication skills, including effectively leading others
- You must hold a current full and clean New Zealand driver’s license and have the flexibility to be able to travel nationally
