By focusing on Te Marautanga o Aotearoa and Te Aho Arataki Marau mo te Ako i Te Reo Maori the Te Reo Maori group sets the direction for what students learn, how they progress and how school leaders and teachers can support every child and student from years 1 to 13 to achieve their educational goals and aspirations.  The group ensures alignment of the Ministry’s work programme to fully support student progress and achievement across the curriculum from early learning through to schools, kura and wharekura education.

 

(1)   Senior Adviser – Te Reo Maori Curriculum Design and Assessment

 The Senior Adviser, Curriculum Design & Assessment is responsible for the design, development and implementation of curriculum, teaching and learning initiatives focussed on capturing students’ progress and achievement for all 0 –18 year olds learning Te Reo Maori and learning within Kura and / or Maori medium settings. Using Te Marautanga o Aotearoa and Te Aho Arataki Marau mo te Ako i Te Reo Maori they will work within the curriculum innovation and investment framework to support student to lift achievement.

Experience & Ability in:

  • Te Marautanga o Aotearoa and Te Aho Arataki Marau mo te Ako i Te Reo Maori
  • Te reo Maori to enable the work to be undertaken efficiently
  • Implementing design, planning and change initiatives
  • Working co-operatively with others to solve problems and complete tasks
  • Using evidence-based decision making and intervention logic
  • Project management techniques and methodologies
