Do you want to lead and inspire change?
Here in Aotearoa New Zealand we need skilled graduates and professionals to make a real difference in the classroom and the wider community. We need individuals who are proficient writers and speakers of Te Reo Māori to work in schools and ensure that all our young people are achieving their full potential. The Teach First NZ programme is your opportunity to support ngā rangatahi ki te rangatira while changing your own life.
About you
You have strong relationship building skills, a proven record of achievement and possess a genuine desire to use your skills and experiences to make a real difference. You're also someone who combines a strong work ethic and self-discipline with warmth, empathy, and humility and a genuine openness to learning.
If this sounds like you, the team at Teach First NZ would love to meet you!
About us
We believe that those who can teach, can lead. Teach First NZ Ako Mātātupu is an innovative not-for-profit organisation. We develop outstanding individuals into highly effective teachers and inspirational community leaders, who go on to tackle one of New Zealand's most pressing issues - educational inequality.
We believe two things can make a big difference to educational inequality:
1. Great teachers working to raise aspiration and achievement in high-need classrooms; and
2. Leaders at all levels of our society, equipped with the skills to affect large-scale change.
The Teach First NZ programme aims to deliver on both.
